About Theresa’s Research

To develop educational and research initiatives that unite advocates, oncologists, and scientists and drive progress toward curative approaches for metastatic breast cancer.

In February of 2013, Theresa and her son, Josh, with the support of friends and family, formed Theresa’s Research Foundation to accelerate progress in metastatic breast cancer through five key commitments:

Funding Research
Investing in bold, high-impact science focused specifically on metastatic breast cancer.

Supporting Clinical Trials
Increasing access and awareness for trials that offer patients new hope and extended time.

Improving Access to Care
Championing equity in treatment and ensuring every patient has a path to the care they deserve.

Encouraging Collaboration
Connecting patients, clinicians, and researchers to spark new ideas and shared solutions.

Providing More Resources for Patients
Helping people living with MBC navigate the journey with clarity, tools, and support.

“My hope is for a cure...”

Our vision is to accelerate breakthroughs in cancer research, and drive progress toward curative approaches for metastatic breast cancer.

While many treatment advances have been made for early-stage breast cancer, very little progress has been made in MBC.

Through Theresa’s participation in various support groups and relationships she formed with other patients, she learned there were critical challenges that needed to be addressed in order to change the odds. Most importantly, she learned that more funding and research were needed to provide additional treatment options for those with MBC.
